You are not quite ready to launch yet, but that does not mean that you should not have a splash page up with some information about the new service. It provide people who just come to you by accident something to come back for but most of all - it gets the search engines looking and indexing you site. Make sure that it has a good description and properly filled out meta tags.

Check out www.sumrshr.com and see what I mean. Also not that I did not yet fill out my meta tags (bad) and I don't have a form for collecting emails in place. The email form lets people enter their email if they are interested in being notified when you launch. It is borderline stupid not to have this email collection. Use open source and reuse it. You can get elaborate as I did on www.bueno.eu.
